08/27/2009 10:53 AM - The Niagara Power would like to announce that Eric Ebers will be the new head coach for the upcoming 2010 Baseball Season. He replaces Sam Kirby who managed the Power for the last three seasons. Ebers was the pitching coach for the Niagara Power's 2009 Season. "We needed to take the team in a new direction this coming year and Eric has already proved to be a huge help in recruiting. He has become our main recruitor for the team and that was one of the facets I was looking for in a new head coach," says Niagara Power General Manager, Cal Kern.
Following a very successful collegiate pitching career at big-time baseball school Mississippi State University, Ebers played in the highly prestigious M.I.N.K. and Northwoods summer leagues. He also pitched professionally in the Frontier, Northern and American Association leagues.
Ebers resides in Starkville, Mississippi with his wife Katie. He is a physical education instructor and baseball coach at Columbus High School in Columbus, Mississippi during the school year. Just recently, because of family priorities, Ebers turned down an opportunity to be the pitching coach at Division I Tennessee-Martin University for this upcoming school season. |
